Who is this guy?

Craig Berntson has been developing PC-based applications for business and government since 1983. He has experience in a variety of industries including accounting, finance, trucking, personnel, inventory management, timber, telecommunications, and insurance. He is experienced in all aspects of product development, including design, implementation, testing, documentation, installation, and training. He has developed custom and commercial applications.

From 1991 to 1994, Mr. Berntson was the Project Manager for Guidelines, DataFlash, and InvenText. Guidelines and DataFlash, marketed by GTE throughout North America, allowed cellular telephone carriers to track roaming agreements and charges. InvenText, originally designed as a textbook inventory package for North Carolina school districts, is now be sold to school districts nationwide.

In 1993, Mr. Berntson also served as Directory of Training for a North Carolina software developer. The company specialized in FoxPro development and training for the beginning to advanced user. In his position, he was responsible for all course material, as well as teaching the classes.

In October, 1993, he placed 18th out of 90 entries in the International Developer's Competition in Research Triangle Park, NC. This competition brought developers together from around the world to compete head-on in the development of the same application in a seven hour time span. 

Mr. Berntson is a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer and since 1997 has been a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional, an annual recognition given to outstanding contribution and high-level of helpful volunteer assistance to peers in online areas. Worldwide, there are approximately 50 FoxPro MVPs.

He has written for the VFUG newsletter and FoxTalk. Three of his FoxTalk articles have been republished on the Microsoft web site. His book, CrysDev: A Developer's Guide to Integrating Crystal Reports we published in 2003 by Hentzenwerke Publishing. He has also been a presenter at Microsoft DevDays and Microsoft MSDN seminars in Salt Lake City, in a series of presentations called "Craig's Toolbox". He has spoken at developer events around the North America and Europe, including Prague DevCon, German DevCon, FoxCon, Advisor DevCon, Essential Fox, DevEssentials, Southwest Fox, DevTeach, the Great Lakes Great Database Workshop, Code Camps, and various user groups.

Mr. Berntson founded the Greensboro, NC and Northwest Montana FoxPro User Groups and served as president of the Salt Lake City Fox User Group for over 10 years, where he was a frequent presenter. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Professional Association of Database Developers, a New York City based non-profit corporation dedicated to the training of database professionals.

Mr. Berntson currently resides in Salt Lake City where he works for a Fortune 100 company. His responsibilities include design, development, and maintenance of database applications for the health care industry.

In his spare time, Craig enjoys snow skiing, watching movies, reading, and researching new Microsoft technologies.
