Conference Speaking

I've wondered for sometime how conference presenters are chosen, but even more so now that the speaker and session list is posted for Southwest Fox. The reason I'm wondering is that I was not asked to speak. That's fine, I understand that there are more people wanting to speak than there is space for them all. However, when you propose the exact or nearly exact session as someone else, what criteria is used to pick one person over another? Rick, Doug, Tamar...anyone want to weigh in on this?

Comments:
Did you ever get a response on this, Craig?

My own feeling, looking at the speaker list for Southwest, was that there was certainly some "nostalgia" effect for certain speakers (I, for one, would love to see Steve Sawyer again - haven't seen him in ages after he "dropped" out of the FoxPro world) - but others may be a question of: "we've seen person x do it before, let's give person y a shot at it."

I would be interested if you got any responses...

FYI - when I was interviewing Doug and Rick for the most recent FoxShow, I asked them about this - didn't get a response as to why certain people weren't chosen - but it was informative especially as it seemed many people were selected based on the "track" they wanted to promote. The episode is up now if you wanted to listen to it.
